Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if therapy is right for me?

I believe that everyone can benefit from therapy! People choose to begin counseling for a variety of reasons, a common one being that they have reached a point where they cannot do it alone and could use some outside perspective and hope.

Some indicators therapy might be a good fit for you:

-Consistent feelings of depression, insecurity, anxiety, and/or relational issues.

-Feeling “stuck” and not knowing how to advance.

-Wanting extra support changing a behavior.

-Wanting to better understand how your story has shaped you.

-Experiencing difficulty adjusting to changes in life.

-Struggles with identity or self-worth and a desire to gain greater self-awareness.

-Whatever brought you to this site.

We will work together to process your unique story and grow in self-awareness, self-trust, and empowerment. We will integrate new skills and reframe parts of your story into a narrative that feels like the most authentic you.

What is therapy like with you?

Therapy is all about you. My job is to create a space where you feel safe to open up, explore the reasons that brought you into therapy, and co-create goals that reflect the outcome you wish to see in your life. I know coming into therapy is a courageous step, and I applaud you for considering this first step in navigating your journey of healing together.

How do we get started with therapy?

To start the process, click the link to schedule a free 15 minute phone consultation! Choose a time that works for you and I’ll give you a call.

What is the free phone consultation for?

This is a chance for us to get to know each other to ensure we are a good fit! Therapy is effective in part because it is relational, and a consultation offers a chance to get to know one another. It’s important that you feel like we would work well together, and this is also a great chance to ask any questions you may have.

Why Teletherapy? What’s it like?

Teletherapy is therapy done remotely rather than in person. This allows you the convenience, flexibility, and empowerment of being in your space rather than having to commute to a counseling office.

While there are many benefits of teletherapy, a major one is that people often feel safer in their home when exploring vulnerable topics that therapy may bring up. You get to create the most therapeutic environment for yourself- you can bring along your pet, and relax with a cup of tea or coffee from the coziest confidential corner of your space.

I use a secure HIPPA platform called Simple Practice for video calls. You will receive an email with the link.
